Day 1: The Bregan MainsFlow Ltd Team attended site and undertook an onsite risk assessment followed by a utility survey to minimize risk of a utility strike before any excavation could take place. Upon breaking ground the team very quickly realised due to the sheer amount of water, the 2 x 2 inch submersible pumps couldn’t keep up. The on-site team contacted the local water board (Affinity Water) for a CST (Customer Service Tech) to attend the site and isolate the main to carry out the works. The call to Affinity was made a 10:00am and the CST attended site at approximately 16:00. The water was shut off at approximately 16:20 upon which the team set about excavating down on the burst pipe.
Once the team had excavated down to the source of the leak they uncovered the buried inoperable tap. The leak was before the tap just before the tee met the rail. The defective part of the pipework was cut out the and installed a new inline stop tap was installed for easy use. The team then backfilled the excavation.
Day 2: The team returned to site to reinstate the excavation to permanent finish.

6-Day Remedial Water Main & Fire Hydrant Installation
Bregan Mainsflow attended site to carry out remedial works to the existing 6" fire main, installing a new sluice valve and fire hydrant to improve control, emergency access and system operation. The team also identified and repaired a separate leak on an ageing 1½" galvanised steel service pipe.
Works involved detailed site surveys, excavation through reinforced concrete and tarmac, installation of new mechanical fittings, liaison with Affinity Water, leak repairs and the excavation and reinstatement of two areas.
The project was completed with approximately 3 tonnes of contaminated spoil removed, 2.5 tonnes of Type 1 imported, new concrete sub-bases installed and the final areas reinstated with 10mm tarmac. The site was left clean, safe and fully reinstated after six days of works.

Bregan MainsFlow Ltd attended the emergency call out at approximately 15:00 to ascertain the issue and try and get the customer back on water.
Day 1: The onsite Bregan Mainsflow Ltd team undertook an initial risk assessment followed by a CATV and Genny Survey to assess the risk of utility strikes. Once completed the team excavated around the gully pot in the bush at the point of entry as this was where they believed the water was coming from. Once the leak was located within the wall at the point of entry, it was ascertained they would have to perform a by-law breakthrough to get the customer back on water. A Tee-Piece had to be cut out to install a temporary above ground supply with a view of retuning in the morning to complete the permanent fix with correct tooling and materials.
The team left site at approximately 20:30 leaving the customer with water.
Day 2: The Bregan Mainsflow Ltd team returned the following day to undertake the correct bylaw breakthrough and connect. They then had to excavate further to renew the pipework that was teed outsider and feed the utility room that had been disconnected temporarily the previous evening. The internal pipework inside the property was renewed to a permanent finish. A new internal stop cock was installed removing the two old, inoperable, existing internal stop cocks.
